Year 4 Natural History Museum Trip

Full CalendarSchool Events

This event will take place between 8:30am and 3:00pm on 20/11/2024

We are pleased to provide you with further details of our visit to the Natural History Museum in London. This trip will enhance our knowledge of our Autumn science topic Living things and their habitats.

The day will include a variety of different activities. We have a guided experience through the museum observing galleries which will showcase fossils, minerals, meteorites and life-sized models of various animal groups which we have learnt about this term! After lunch, we then have an exciting tour of the Ocean in Attenborough Studio. This immersive show highlights the importance of the oceans and demonstrates why it’s important to help protect this amazing habitat, after this then returning to school.

We will need to leave the school promptly at 8:30 AM on the day so please ensure that your child arrives at school by 8:15 AM to allow the register to be taken. On the morning, please drop your child off beside the grass verge outside of the office. Pupils will then be brought into hall via the reception entrance. We aim to be back at school for 3.30pm.

School uniform will need to be worn so that all pupils are easily identifiable. Every child will need a packed lunch which should be inside a named bag. Please do not send your child in with any other school equipment on this day to minimise the amount that will need to be carried. If your child normally carries an epipen or asthma inhaler, it is imperative that they have this with them on the day. If your child requires travel sickness tablets, please ensure you have completed the relevant medicine form prior to the trip.
