Absence, Attendance and Behaviour

Pupils should not arrive before 8.35 in the morning as they are not supervised on the premises before this time.
Pupils should be at school, ready to line up in the playground, by 8.50 am at the very latest.
Registers are taken at 9.00am am and lessons start promptly at 9.05 am.

The office staff will ring to confirm the whereabouts of children who are absent unless we have received an email or phone call. Please ensure that any telephone calls regarding absences are made to the office before 9.00 am. Please leave a message on the answer-phone if necessary (01494 713000).

Planned absences should be notified in advance in writing.

Late Arrivals

Please note that pupils who arrive at school after registration has closed, are issued with a late mark. Late arrivals must be signed in by the responsible adult dropping them off and are recorded in the school’s formal register system.

School closures

There may be occasions where the school has to close at short notice because of bad weather or because the school has no heating. If this happens, the Buckinghamshire Council web page will be updated as well as announcements on local radio stations. The school will also record a message on the school answer phone advising the up-to-date situation.

In the event of very bad weather, please check by one of these means to find out whether we are open. The school will also send text messages to those parents for whom we have a mobile number registered through Parent Mail. If your contact information changes, please ensure that we have these details for you so that you can receive important information as quickly as possible.

Further information can be found within our school’s Attendance policy found on the policies page.
